Landscape of our Heritage

Methuselah lived 996 years, there being no ultra violet radiation before the world-wide flood and therefore limited ageing, for the globe was watered with a sun-protecting mist.

What will be your longevity?

Throughout life, we stand on land, in the lands and depend on land for our welfare and survival. Where has your life prospered? Our faith in God also has a spiritual landscape that courts our attention, charms our life and captivates our obedience or following of God.

The ‘spiritual landscape’ of the generation we live in, and of our own generation(s) is captured in this eBook I’ve written: Key to the Knowledge, for anyone’s free download.

For the eternal gospel is generational and it’s a scandal by nature:

“We preach Christ crucified, preaching which to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block that springs a snare or trap. And to the Gentiles – meaning all other nations’ peoples and lands – our preaching appears absurd and a load of unphilosophical nonsense!

“But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek, Christ is the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.

“This is because the foolish thing that has its source in God, is wiser than men, and the weak thing that springs from God is stronger than men. For simply consider your own call, brothers and sisters” ~1 Corinthians 1:23-26, clarified Amplified Version.

Methuselah was called “when he dies, it comes”, which is the literal meaning of his name in Hebrew. And when he died, the world wide flood came! Judgment is not a popular word, but it is when anyone knows that they’re called of God.

Any reader may like to see here, for a couple of God’s most gracious and merciful judgments, and they’re made entirely for our sakes.

Imagine in those times before the flood, Methuselah’s mother calling him for dinner as a child, for she’d literally be saying: “when he dies, judgement comes”, dinner’s ready! Have you heard the voice of God calling you and do you know if He’s chosen you? This is our whole security, stability and victory in all of the landscape of life.

If you’ve heard God and followed God by hearing His voice – the voice of the nurturing, consoling, healing and nutrifying Holy Spirit; just like Methuselah’s mother’s voice – then you will know that He’s called you and chosen you, for He cannont lie when He calls you by name: “John”, “Cyndie”, “Terry”, “Joel”, “Harmony” or whatever.

Because then, you know that He knows you.

But then, where do you stand in the landscape of life? Do you stand on a mountain top, courting His right stance and judgments? Do you stand on a hillside, ready to slide or still climbing? Do you stand in a deep, dark valley of woe, or in a fertile valley of delight?

Ages may pass, and it seems like no one cares or has cared, but you’re called by God, and you know He cares, even though you’ve been living a scandal. It’s alright, because God himself is scandalous, He’s used to you, because He knows the exact place in the landscape that you’ve traversed and are now standing in. He can speak to you there.

Interesting! When Methuselah was born, Adam was still alive, and would have easily comprehended Adam’s creation naratives as an adult. So, what if this Bible narrative is true? Will it fit your age?

For simply consider your own call, brothers and sisters ~1 Corinthians 1:26 – for it’s ageless and it’s in the landscaper’s hands by the calling and choosing of the Ancient of Days.

So, for a sense of agelessness, please read this scripture. It’s a heavenly mist. I may need it to become a foundation stone for me, hence-forth!
